Hammersmith Area Guide
Hammersmith is the centre of LBHF and offers excellent transport links and shopping.
Hammersmith is the centre of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It, together with Fulham, Shepherd’s Bush, Barons Court and West Kensington, makes up part of the north bank of the River.
Hammersmith has a wide range of residential stock from Georgian houses to new build apartments with everything in-between.
Hammersmith is the home for some excellent schools, both independent and state. These include John Betts, Latymer and St Paul’s (south bank by Hammersmith Bridge).
Hammersmith is serviced by three underground stations: Hammersmith Broadway (District, Piccadilly, Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines), Ravenscourt Park and Stamford Brook (both District Line), as well as host of bus routes.
By road, you have easy access to the A4 and A40.
Hammersmith’s King Street is the hub of the shopping district with The Broadway shopping centre at one end. King Street has an array of independent and large chain shops, a weekly street food market, cafes and restaurants which run along its length until you get to Chiswick.
You are truly spoilt for choice; tucked away off the main high street you will find some of the best Gastropubs in London. In addition, it has the river and Ravenscourt Park for a lazy Sunday stroll.
